Kalasalingam University was started by Kalasalingam and Anandam Ammal Charities. All its UG programmes have received UGC approval and NAAC accreditation. It is ranked among the top five engineering colleges affiliated to Anna University, Tamil Nadu. Further, it is ranked 7th in terms of quality and quantity of research output among private universities in the country as per SIR World Report. The University received Deemed to be University status in October 2006. It has also received ISO Certification from RRWWTUV, Germany. The university houses n-CARDMATH – the only advanced research centre in Discrete Mathematics in India, established with the support of Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi.
