The Faculty Training Program for the Mobile Applications was conducted from 20th May 2013 to 25th May 2013.

Training Objective:
The objective of this Train-the-Trainer programme was to enable our Faculty to deliver effective classroom and lab sessions for the following subjects:
1. Advanced iPhone Application Development
2. Mobile Value Added Solutions.
The training was taken-up in-house through a series of lectures and hands-on exercises.
The first three days of the training were allocated for Advanced iPhone Application Development and the next three for Mobile Value Added Solutions.
Day 1:
The first day of the training was dedicated to the important concepts of Core Location and Mapkit in the first half. This was followed by a session on Camera and Audio functions of iOS.

Day 2:
The first half of the training was on the concepts of Core graphics, Core Animation. The second half was dedicated to training of Gestures and Web Service functions of iOS.

Day 3:
The first half of the training was on the concept of OpenGL and then an introduction was provided to iOS 5 and its new features. The second half was dedicated to training of Universal Applications in iOS.
The training for Advanced iPhone Application development concluded with this topic. The participants had to take a set of exercises during each of the sessions to understand the concepts better.

The next three days of training were dedicated to the concepts of Mobile Value Added Services (MVAS).
Day 4:
Shivakumar started the session with an introductory note on MVAS and then went on to explain the concepts of JDBC, DOM, SDLC and UML, all integral parts of value added services. Then the important concept of SMS as a value added service was taken up by him.

Day 5:
The first half of training was on the concepts of MMS Architecture and IVR. In the second half, the concepts of IVR Platforms and VXML were explained and exercises taken up.

Day 6:
The training of the final day was dedicated to explanation of the concepts of CMS, MCMS and DRM. All these concepts were explained in-depth and the faculty also undertook the exercises as part of lab activities.
