Microsoft Corporation (India) Pvt. Ltd. joined hands with Jain University and its industry knowledge partner iNurture Education Solutions to launch – Microsoft Windows APPATHON – a unique Windows Store application development competition, with a boot camp event on 21st of November, 2013 at Jain University’s Jayanagar campus, Bangalore.
The day’s proceedings begin with invocation of blessings which was followed by lighting of the lamp, a symbol of knowledge, by Prof. A. Achutha, HOD Computer Science, Jain University, Rajasekharan and Deepti Anantharam, Evangelists – Microsoft Corporation and Dr. C. Manohar, Director – Operations, iNurture Education Solutions, along with a student representative.
Anupama Hegde, Vertical Head- Mobile Applications at iNurture spoke about Introduction to Mobile Applications. The topic itself was interesting enough particularly for the current generation of students who are well versed with latest trend and technology in smart phones. After Anupama’s session, professionals from Microsoft continued the proceedings with technology sessions, where students were given hands on trainings in mobile app development.
It was one of a kind opportunity for the students of BCA, B. Sc., MCA and MS to test their ideas in the mobile application development space. Participants are to develop their own apps within five weeks after the boot camp during which they will get online and in-person support and guidance from Microsoft team and iNurture faculties. All the students who publish their app to the Windows Store will get recognized and winning entries will be rewarded
