Best Undergraduate Design Programs After 12th Grade

The course that students choose after the 12^th grade is a crucial turning point in their lives. It will determine their professional direction and career for the better part of their lives. While earlier, the options for students after the 12^th grade were limited to a few choice standard programs , today; there are a plethora of programs  that students can choose from, which lead to very fulfilling and lucrative careers. For those who have a creative bent of mind, there is nothing better than taking up a design course to study. There are bachelor’s programs in animation, filmmaking, visual communications, fine arts, etc., all of which have further opportunities for higher studies and/or employment. Bachelor’s Degree in Animation

Animation is a field that is growing vibrantly both in India and abroad. Unlike in the past, when animation was synonymous with children’s cartoons, today, the movies using this technology are full-length feature films. In India, there are 3-year bachelor’s degrees in animation for which a Higher Secondary school certificate is the qualification. There are also 3-year B.Sc degrees in multimedia and animation. There are other B.Sc degree programs also, such as animation and visual effects, animation and filmmaking and B.Sc in visual effects and filmmaking. These programs cover 2D animation, character design, digital design methodology, etc.

A B.Sc in Visual Communication is one of the more popular design programs  in India. These offer a wide variety of options after graduation, such as journalism, media management, advertising, animation, film production, graphic design, and industrial design. There are also several options for higher studies in this field. This is excellent for those students who are talented in many different areas or have an interest in many different things but are not sure which to specialize in. They can try their hand at many different subjects during their three years of bachelor’s degree in visual communications, which will help them zoom in on a single passion or talent, and specialize in that later. Many of the colleges that offer B.Sc. in Visual Communications have an entrance examination, group discussion, and interview rounds to get through before admission is ensured. At the end of the course, most colleges offer internships with design companies, media houses, and other industries based on student interest and specialization.

Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) is perfect for those who are not only artistically talented, but also have a clear artistic voice and vision and want professional guidance in their career. Colleges in India offer a BFA specializing in different artistic disciplines like music, painting, sculpture, graphic arts, art history, photography, illustration, applied arts, plastic arts, etc. These programs focus on both the creative and research aspects of art creation. The minimum eligibility for these programs  is the intermediate or higher secondary pass. The first year would be a foundation course and the others would be specializations.
