iNurture Industry-Academic Council (IIAC) on Data Science

It is a universal truth that modern businesses are awash with data. The unprecedented increase in data that organisations churn out can be used for a better understanding of various metrics that can help the business grow faster, reduce costs, improve performance, etc. There is enormous value in data processing and analysis. Recent advancements in Data Science and Big Data technologies provide valuable data-driven business insights.

To review and strengthen program structures, course syllabi, teaching, and evaluation methodology iNurture instituted the iNurture Industry-Academic Council (IIAC) that comprises of industry experts, academicians, and iNurture stakeholders. The second meeting of the iNurture Industry-Academic Council was held on February 15, 2020, at the iNurture Head office in Bengaluru.

The meeting was opened by Dr. Sujay Nair, President for Corporate Relations & Strategic Alliances and Program Lead of IIAC. Dr. Shradha Kanwar, Chief Learning Officer and Patron of IIAC welcomed members of the BoS committee and placed the agenda for the deliberations of members.

Industry experts attending the IIAC included Mr. Bidhan Roy, Director – Data Science/AI at Fidelity Investments, who has been associated with this field since 2008. The other industry expert in attendance was Mr. Sachin Kumar, Data Science Director at IHS Markit. With more than 16 years of experience, Mr. Kumar has worked in scaling Advanced Analytics and Digital Analytics teams, managing P&L for mid-sized teams, Client Management, Analytics Strategy development & Execution, as well as leading Analytics Product and Big Data Platform development. 

Dr Rishikesh Padmanabhan, Head – Knowledge Management was the Council Chair and Dr. Shubhra Banerji, Academic Head – Program Design & Enhancement represented the IT vertical. The council also featured academicians and special invitees from Jain University and the IT vertical representing the Data Science domain.
